Dialup Settings

we have outlined easy-to-follow instructions so that you can set-up
your Internet account on your own. For further guidance, please

Settings for windows 9x
Step1: Install Dial-Up Networking
If you already have Dial-up Networking installed you can skip
to this step.
- Click Start Button.
- Click Settings.
- Click Control Panel.
- Click Add / Remove Program.
- Click Windows Setup
double click on Communications.
- Click on the Dial-up
Networking check box.
- Click Ok.
- Click Apply.
- Click Ok.
Note: Window 95/98
CD is required.
Now you may have to restart your computer.
Step 2: Install TCP/IP
If you already have TCP/IP installed, you can skip to this step.
- Click Start.
- Click Settings.
- Click Control Panel.
- Double Click Network
Icon.
- Click on Add.
- Double Click on Protocol.
- Under Manufacturers
click on Microsoft.
- Under Network Protocols,
double click on TCP/IP.
- Click OK.
Note: Window 95/98
CD is required.
Now you may have to restart your computer.
Step 3: Make New Connection for Windows 9x
- Double Click on My Computer
on your desktop.
- Double Click on the
Dial-Up Networking folder.
- Double click on Make
New Connection icon.
- For connection Name
type in Xcess.
- Make sure your modem
is listed in the selected Modem box.
Click Next
- Under Telephone No
type 13102000 or 13102001 for Digital Line
- Under Country Code select
Pakistan (92).
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
- You will see a XcessT
icon in your Dial-up Networking folder.
- Click on the XcessT
icon with your right mouse button.
- Click on Properties.
- Uncheck the use Area
Code and Dialing Properties option.
- Click on Server Types.
- Under Type of Dial-up
Server, select PPP: Windows 95-98,Windows NT 3.5 Internet.
- Uncheck all options under Advance option.
- Only TCP/IP should be
clicked or checked under Allowed Network Protocol option..
- Click OK.

FOR WINDOWS ME
Step 1 (How to install TCP/IP)
- If you already have
TCP/IP installed, you can skip to the next step.
- Double-click the My
Computer icon.
- Double-click the Control
Panel icon.
- Double-click the Network
icon.
- Click the Add button.
- Select Protocol in the
list.
- Click the Add button.
- Select Microsoft in
the Manufacturers list.
- Select TCP/IP
in the Network Protocols list.
- Click the OK button.
- Click the OK button.
- Click the OK button.
Note: If prompted,
insert the Windows Me CD
Click the Yes button to restart your computer.
TCP/IP is now installed on your computer.
Step 2 (How to configure Dial-Up Networking to connect to Xcess)
- From the Start menu,
click Settings, and choose Dial-Up Networking.
- Double-click the Make
New Connection icon.
- In the Type a name for
the computer you are dialing field, type Xcess.
- Click the down arrow
on the Select a device drop-down list and choose your default
modem. Now Click the Next button.
- In the Area code field,
type in your local area code.
- In the Telephone number
field, type your Xcess access number (13102000 or13102001)
- Click the Next button.
And Click the Finish button.
- Click the Xcess icon
with your right mouse button, and then choose Properties.
- In General deselect
use area code and Dialing properties
- Click on the Networking
tab.
- Click the down arrow
on the Type of Dial-Up Server: drop-down list and choose PPP:
Internet, Windows 2000/NT, Windows Me.
- Uncheck all the boxes
except TCP/IP.
- Click the TCP/IP Settings
Button.
- Select server assigned
IP address.
- Select server assigned
name server addresses.
- Click last two options.
- Click the OK button.
Click on the Security tab.
- In the User name: field,
type in your username.
- In the Password: field,
type in your password.
- Click the OK button.
- Click the Xcess icon
with your right mouse button, and then choose Create Shortcut.
Click the Yes button.
- Now the dial up connection
has configured.

Settings
For Windows NT
Note: RAS and Dial-Up Networking should be installed.
- Double My Computer:
- Double Click On Dial-Up
Networking, A window
will pop up.
- Click On New at the
top.
- A new window will
pop up with following tabs,
BASIC - SERVER - SECURITY - X.25 etc.
- In Basic give connection
name XcessT.
- Click on Sever.
- Deselect all the options
leave TCP/IP.
- Click on Security and
click on first option having text Accept any authentication including
Clear text.
If you want to view your
settings.
- Double click on My Computer.
- Then Dial-Up Networking.
- There you will click
on "More" button and a menu will open Select edit entry for dialing
properties and you again have these tabs (Basic - Sever - Security
- etc.).

Setting
for Windows 2000
- Click on Start.
- Click on Settings.
- Click on Network and
Dial-up Connections.
- Click on Make New Connection.
- Click on Next.
- Click on Dial-up to
private network.
- Click Next.
- Give 13102000 or
13102001 under Telephone number.
- De-select the area
code and dialing rules.
- Click Next.
- Select one option
from Connection Availabity options.
- Click Next.
- De-select the Internet
Connection Sharing option.
- Click Next.
- Give in the Connection
Name Xcess
- Check the Add a shortcut
option (If you want to make a shortcut at your desktop)
- Click on Finish
- The Xcess connection
is configured
- Double click on the
Xcess connection
- Give your User Name
and Password
- Click on Connect

Setting
for Windows XP
Note: Before setting up your connection to Xcess, you should make sure
that a modem is installed.
- Click on Start menu
and choose setting option.
- Click Control Panel.
- Double-click on the
Network Connections icon.
- Under the "Network
Tasks" panel, select Create a new connection to start the "New
Connection Wizard".
- Click Next to advance
to the "Network Connection Type" window.
- Choose Connect to the
Internet and click Next.
- In the "Getting Ready"
window, choose Set up my connection manually and click Next.
- In the "Internet Connection"
window, choose Connect using a dial-up modem and click Next.
- In the "Connection
Name" window, type "Xcess" in the ISP Name field and click Next.
- In the "Phone Number
to Dial" window, type 13102000 or 13102001 in the Phone Number
field and click Next.
- In the "Internet Account
Information" window, type in your Xcess username in the User name
field.
- Type in your Xcess
password in both the Password and Confirm password fields and
click Next.
- After finishing the
"New Connection Wizard", check the Add a shortcut to this connection
to my desktop checkbox for easy access to the Xcess connection
icon from the desktop and then click Finish.
- Un check the "Turn on Internet connection
firewall for this connection"
Establishing
a connection with internet.
After configuring
the Xcess connection, you are ready to dial up.
- Double-click on the
Xcess icon from your desktop.
NOTE: If a desktop icon was not created during the "New
Connection Wizard", you can also access the Xcess icon from Network
Connections in Control Panel.
- In the "Connect Xcess"
window, enter a valid Xcess username and password in the proper
fields and click Dial to connect.
- To disconnect from
the Xcess, double-click on the Xcess icon on the desktop
after a connection has been established, and click Disconnect.

Windows Vista Dial-Up Connection Setup:
- Click on the Windows Logo button or Start button and select Connect To.
- Click on Setup a connection or network.
- Select Setup a dial-up connection and then click next.
- In the box labeled Phone Number: type your local access number.
- In the box labeled User Name: type your username.
- In the box labeled Password: type your password.
- In the box labeled Connection Name: type Internet Nebraska and click Next.
- Click the Skip button and select the option that saysSetup the connection anyway.
- Click the Close button.
Windows Vista Mail Setup:
- Click on the Windows Logo button or Start button and select Email.
- Click on Tools at the top of the screen and select Accounts.
- Click the Add button on the right side of the window.
- Select \223Email Account and push the Next Button.
- You will be prompted for a Display Name. This is your real name, e.g., John Smith.\240Enter it and click Next.
- Enter your e-mail address (e.g., joe@inebraska.com) and click next
- For Incoming Email Server Type select POP3 from the drop down menu. In the Incoming Mail Server box type pop.inebraska.com. In the Outgoing Email Server box type smtp.inebraska.com then click Next
- Enter your account name and password in the blanks. Click Next.
- Check the box labeled Do Not Download My Email at This Time.
- Click Finish.
